Ren Krueger is a an aspiring YA fantasy author and owner of The Writerly Type Studio, offering web design and branding services to fiction authors and other writerly folks. Since 2024, she’s volunteered as an assistant for the Writing & Illustrating for Young Readers conference in Draper, UT. She currently writes for Heber Valley Life.

You can often find her singing along to Broadway tunes and attending musicals around Utah, where she lives with her four equally theater-obsessed children and two cats, who like to sit on her keyboard while she writes (the cats, not the kids).

I usually give more grace to adaptations, and I can even see what they tried to do with Anne with an E, but this is my second try watching this show, and my heart breaks at Anne's characterization. It's hard to separate out the girl who I felt was my own bosom friend, who felt just as real as my real friends, with this adaptation of her that I struggle to even like. Sigh. Also...I need to reread this book. ♥️
I went to Park City this weekend. And of course found the bookish coffee shop @atticusparkcityutah (I recommend the Mexican Mocha...so good!) and the cute @dollysbookstore 😍 I think finding coffee and bookshops is my favorite part of visiting places

A fairy tale dream come true! My high school bestie threw a fairy tale themed party in Atlanta 😍 And of course on the flight over I had to listen to a retold fairy tale (my favorite genre since I was a kid!) I picked Alix E. Harrow's A Spindle Splin

Lately I've struggled with reading the first book in a series and then not wanting to continue. But I finally read Divine Rivals and I absolutely loved it...and I've already downloaded book 2. Yay for Christmas-time reading!

I met @kaelacub at the @wifyr conference in June and she was SO fun to get to know. So of course I had to read her book, Cece Rios and the Desert of Souls. I loved it sooooo much! ❤️ Cece was such a fabulous character and I loved the folklore. #kid

MY WRITING

I write articles for Heber Valley Life, a quarterly magazine highlighting the “local flavor” of Heber Valley, Utah.

My current fiction work in progress is a Young Adult fantasy with dystopian vibes.
